Memoires of a lame tourist. Salzburg
Salzburg. The sarcastic view. This micro town in the micro country of Austria…… No wonder I knew nothing about it (the country) when I came here, whereas I knew quite a lot about Germany. Human greediness. This is how u can explain the existence of such petite countries as Lichtenstein, Malta (goodness grace), and of course Austria. Look at Russia and Ukraine’s size for instance. No greediness there – vAst Slavic soul. Or like China…. Speaking about Salzburg. Small city. A fortress that is all so flashy and medieval from the look, but inside – u pay the bloody 7 euros for entrance - and get 3 decayed roomies and a free ride on the funicular (ha, new flashy nerdy term) back.
Stupid Mozart chocolate balls. What could be more stupider? Not tasty at all. And then there is this flimflam division into the not-real red balls and real (more expensive of course) blue ones. Give me a break!
Private Mozart museum. I mean if it’s private, it doesn’t mean that after paying ANOTHER SEVEN EUROs, u get only 3 miserable babyrooms where his musical majesty Mozart lived. This city succumbs on the noble name of Mozart but the poor guy if he lived till nowadays wouldn’t have stood this gobbledygookness.
I mean – of course there were some good points, like these little labirynth-like streets and the puppet show (which we didn’t see), and a cheap hostel and a dome with a museum where u can get a discount if u belong to a church (ha!), and some Alps views. But Salzburg should still work hard on the above listed points if he doesn’t want to disappoint such picky (or should I say lame?) tourists like me ))

Datcha
Ho-ho-ho, my drugi. Time has come to tell you what a beautiful datcha I have. Last weekend my father, sister and I went there to relax. In the beginning we worked a bit, pulled some trava. Then we prepared shashlik, and let me tell ya what a delicious one it was! After we slept for 12 full chasi in a warm house, even though it was very cholodno outside. During the day we enjoyed the krasota of autumn. How could I not have liked autumn before? It is so beautiful, such colors, such emotions – the swan song of nature. In the morning we went for rybalka. It is a nice felling to catch some fishes, let me tell ya. On my dacha there I a decorative swimming pool with rocks all around it. Father has bought juniper there and calls it a place of connection with cosmos.

Belgian business vs Ukrainian Haliava
Peter Dermaunt, the Belgian party, gave the presentation. The audience obviously had fun during the questions time. They showed Ukrainian sense of humor, asking questions like “Can we have this detail for free? Can we have a T-shirt with your logo for free?” I think my foreign friends should know the Ukrainian cultural term “Haliava”, which means “free stuff” and not be offended by the fact how bad we want it. Afterwards I and Zaporizhian host Alexander gave to Peter a quick drive around the night town. During the coffee he told about Belgium, which is famous for beer, chocolate, historical towns and Moroccans, about whom he told couple bad jokes)))))))))) Pics r comin

“Europe without frontiers”

It was the best week of this year definitely! I got a lucky chance to participate in an international youth conference “Europe without frontiers” in Germany, where I met interesting people, visited a new country and had a lot of fun.
So we went on a bus to Berlin. During the first day we saw Bundestag, Brandenburg Gate and the Under the Lime Street. Than we took the suburban train to Frankfurt on the Oder where the site of hosting organization Internationaler Bund was located. In the evening we had the first ice-breaker, that wasn’t that ice-breaking, some people went to sleep (including me, as I hadn’t slept for previous two nights on the road), some went to a hospitable Armenian team, they tried mulberry vodka.
The second day was famous for the Cultural evening. We gathered in the canteen, and presented our countries. Our team member Vanya hosted the event and challenged the teams with tasks to perform a dance, sing a folk song or tell a national joke. Our team made the presentation during the last hour ( as several other countries did too). I tried little bit of Armenian food, Albanian Rakia. The Irish had great green costumes. The evening ended with a nice ice-breaking disco.
During the next days we visited Frankfurt on the Oder, where we had a nice quest and shopping. I bought candies and beer as souvenirs, but I drank the pack of beer during the parties, so I had to bye an extra pack. During the week we were busy in several workshops, all dedicated to the topic of the conference, like “video”, “newspaper”, “dance”, “slam poetry”, “florists” and “wood art”. My workshop was called “creative Arts’ there we made a mask and a costume for Mister and Missis Europe, and a little contest for 5 couples, the winners of which – Albanian girl Ira and Croatian guy Ante – became Missis and Mister of Europe.. The “Newspaper” was a daily one and it reflected the life of our camp. “Florists” decided not to wait until the last day and had their presentation somewhere in the middle, the dresses that they made were haut couturier, and Russian matrioshka was the highlight of the program. “slam poetry” did a poem on different languages and made a little performance ”customs office”. The “wood arts” made a train out of wood, symbolizing the Europe and wooden plates as souvenirs. My favourite workshop was “dance”, they made a dance, but of course you need to see the dance, because the power of art cannot be expressed with words.
At the beginning of the week the weather was “weak”. But when the sun finally decided to show up, our director Brita proposed to go to the beach. So part of the group went to Helena Lake, where we logically swam, lay on the beach and also played some volleyball.
How could I have forgotten the High Ropes Course!!!!!!!!!!!! It was an extrem
e sport on the …high ropes, ))) the ropes that were connected on wooden pillars and we walked on them with security belts. It was worth taking, and we learned some swear words in different languages.
To sum it up, I would like to quote our organizer Steren “ If it wasn’t this conference, it would have been just an ordinary week”, but it was a blast.
P.s. I tried national German food – sausages, sauer kraut (sour cabbage), Bretzels (rogaliki), pork kotlette and apple cake with ice-cream. Also I taught Croatioan girls how to play Russian card game ‘fool” and Irish team – the game Mafia.
